Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Electrical Controls Supervisor to join our team at the Maplesville, AL Mill. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving PLC and other automation control systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong technical skills, and the ability to lead and develop a team of electrical technicians.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the electrical team to maintain and enhance PLC and automation control systems.
Train and impart knowledge to mill personnel, elevating the skill level to match existing systems.
Engage effectively with mill-level personnel, understand mill needs, and provide necessary assistance.
Manage and develop electrical technicians within the team.
Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills for drives, PLC issues, control problems, and electrical malfunctions.
Maintain and care for optimization systems, both software and hardware.
Respond to emergency situations with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate with local mill management for implementation.
Assist in project planning, startups, and vendor coordination to enhance mill operations.
Qualifications:

Required:

Technical Degree.
Previous Industrial Experience.
Familiarity with Allen Bradley products, VFD Drives, Soft Starters, and HMIÂ’s.
Experience with PLC 5 and Control Logix PLC platforms.
Proficiency in computer and Microsoft Office software packages.
Experience with high and low voltages.
Demonstrated supervisor abilities.
Ability to manage small projects and day-to-day work planning.
Experience following electrical schematics.
Proven safe work record.
Preferred:

5 years or more experience with controls and automation.
Minimum of 1-year experience in manufacturing.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Willingness to grow and consider relocation opportunities.
Service-oriented attitude to support production needs.
Strong commitment to continuous process improvements.
Team-oriented with the ability to work with vendors to maximize uptime.
Willingness to work flexible hours based on business needs.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 Yearly
