Tax Partner

Our client is a leading CPA firm in the United States, currently ranked as the 166th largest in the nation with net revenues of $30 million. They serve a diverse client base spanning various industries, including Construction & Real Estate, Dealerships, Long-Term Care, Manufacturing & Distribution, Non-Profit Organizations, Professional Services, Technology & Closely Held Businesses. The firm specializes in providing a wide range of compliance services and specialty financial and consulting expertise, encompassing Specialized Tax Projects, Audit and Accounting, Merger and Acquisitions, and Business Valuations.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:
Demonstrate thorough technical knowledge of accounting standards and reporting standards, specifically in researching, completing, and reviewing technical areas related to flow-through entities <150M, cash taxpayer issues, and C-Corp < 50M.
Identify tax risk management issues and propose potential solutions through research and collaboration, including governance, tax preparer rules, and requirements according to AICPA standards.
Review tax procedures, engagement workpapers, and financial statements.
Tax Review and Compliance:
Complete a thorough review of tax workpapers on a timely basis, providing advanced top-level tax review of returns.
Oversee tax technology, processes, procedures, and scheduling to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Address questions on advanced technical accounting matters from team members and upper-level client management.
Monitor task assignments and completion on a timely basis, reviewing workflow.
Client Management:
Serve as the primary client contact and liaison for complex issues that staff are unable to resolve; communicate effectively with clients and develop positive relationships with client personnel.
Review required communications to the client, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Firm and professional guidelines.
Take a lead role in client and team meetings, contributing new ideas and strategic initiatives.
Team Leadership and Development:
Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff to foster professional growth and development.
Coordinate the day-to-day duties of planning, tax work, and wrap-up within the tax team.
Practice Development:
Demonstrate a well-thought-out and logical approach to practice development, selling value-added services using the existing network, and/or building strong relationships in the area.
Stay current on technical and industry developments and standards while evaluating potential impacts on client engagements.
Qualifications:
CPA certification required.
Extensive experience in tax compliance, planning, and review.
Strong understanding of accounting standards and reporting requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Ability to stay current on industry developments and standards.
