Job Title: Principal Quality Engineer
Location: Raleigh - NC, West Union – SC
Duration: Full time Permanent employment position
Job Description:
Our client that specializes in cutting-edge and innovative solutions across the utilities sector, is seeking an onsite Principal Quality Engineer to complement their growing team in West Union, SC or Raleigh, NC!

The Role in the organization

Project Quality Management for NPI working with 4-8 program core teams (size and complexity vary)
Part of a (6) person team focused on Outcomes and Networks Software NPI development
Interfacing with (130) Quality personnel representing Supplier Quality, Factory Quality, Reliability, QMS, and Customer Quality
Ideally, position is located at Software Centers of Excellence (Raleigh - NC, West Union - SC)

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assess Project deliverables content, gates passing, quality level versus expectations for program deliverables
• Plan Quality Management
• Manage Quality
• Control Quality
• Verify and Validate Quality
• Drive risks assessment and recommendations based on audits results and projects results, coordinate audit and or corrective action plans
• Ensure Product Development teams alignment with the global "Built In" quality tools and processes
• Requirements Management and development of appropriate test cases
• Process maps / architectural documentation / design reviews
• Facilitation of Failure Mode Effect and Analysis (FMEA) through concept, design and process risk mitigation efforts
• Software Reliability development
• Constructing Quality Plans aligned to the development process that supports quality requirements from NPI Concept to End of Life (EOL) decisions
• Support activities around bug triage, bug deferment, and 8D problem solving
• Verification and validation best practice development,
• Lessons Learned and Knowledge Management application

Interface with the Quality

Ensure the quality network is properly informed about the projects and sharing critical program knowledge within the organization
Provides and communicates metric performance on Software Quality to the organization
Develop software quality tools and culture within the organization with the development of processes and tools to improve software quality
Engage with development core teams during the Software Development Life Cycle

Education
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a Science related field - Masters or MBA desired

Required Skills
• Product Life Cycle process expert
• CSQE Strongly Preferred
• Logical problem solving expert, able to distinguish when external support needed
• Good communicator and team spirit
• Knowledgeable in built in Quality Tools such as FMEA and statistics
• Able to lead 8D Problem Solving and DMAIC Improvement activities
• Ability to remain composed under pressure
• Knowledge of reliability, capability, Design for capability (Design For Six Sigma), SPC (statistical process control) … tools is welcome
• Awareness of Lean Development concepts is also appreciated
• Ability to review open issues, bugs, and requirements in Azure DevOps (ADS)
