Job Title: Project Quality Engineer– Software Programs
Location: Raleigh, NC or West Union,SC

Duration: Fulltime Permanent

Position Summary
The ‘Project Quality Engineer– Software Programs’ position defines, promotes, and drives the use of Quality Tools, Standards, and Processes for Client’s product development activities focused on Software. The individual will lead quality assurance and control activities during the product development lifecycle.

The individual will be a leader to help ‘build in’ exceptional quality, guide team members, and influence organizational strategy.
The individual will work to ensure software programs meets expected quality goals , including support of Critical Parameters, goals via a Quality Plan, and tracking program quality via appropriate software metrics.
Activities can include quality planning, quality reviews, process tailoring, metrics, verification of compliance to standards and procedures, and supporting change management.

Duties and Responsibilities
Owns and Promote Design Excellence, Quality Culture and Tools

Ensure Product Development teams alignment with the global “Built In” quality tools and processes
Design Reviews support
Software Reliability development
FMEAs (Concept, System, Design, and Process) facilitation
Verification and validation best practice development,
Requirements Management and development of appropriate test cases
Lessons Learned and Knowledge Management application
Drive Projects Quality

Assess Project deliverables content, gates passing, quality level versus expectations for program deliverables
Drive risks assessment and recommendations based on audits results and projects results, coordinate audit and or corrective action plans
Support product development teams with
Process maps / architectural documentation / design reviews,
Facilitation of Failure Mode Effect and Analysis (FMEA) through concept, design and process risk mitigation efforts
Constructing Quality Plans aligned to the development process that supports quality requirements from NPI Concept to End of Life (EOL) decisions
Support activities around bug triage, bug deferment, and 8D problem solving

Interface with Quality and the Organization

Ensure the quality network is properly informed about the projects and sharing critical program knowledge within the organization
Provides and communicates metric performance on Software Quality to the organization
Develop software quality tools and culture within the organization with the development of processes and tools to improve software quality
Engage with development core teams during the Software Development Life Cycle

None, but will need work to collaboratively with Quality, Delivery, and Product development Network


Education:
BS in Computer Science or Information Technologies
MS in Software Engineering highly desirable

Skills:

Software Quality Assurance experience preferred, experience with Software Development Life Cycle
American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification preferred
Logical problem-solving expert, able to distinguish when external support is needed
Good communicator, team orientation, able to value to the teams the quality role
Knowledgeable of relevant Quality Tools and statistics, Expert in S/DFMEA tool and leadership
Understands software quality standards and has prior experience in defining quality for SW and System products.
Has prior experience quality audits and code quality tools and practices.
Has experience and practices in Metrics and continues improvement process. building prediction models.
Overall familiarity of software and systems product tools used in product development (ADS, Jira, Sonar Qube, Whitesource, Fortify, Mend, ….)
Knowledge of reliability, capability, robustness
