Sheetmetal Trades Worker

We are currently looking for a full-time Sheetmetal Trades Worker to join our team.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, or specifications to determine the required dimensions, materials, and processes for fabricating sheet metal products.
• Use specialized tools and equipment, such as power shears, presses, rollers, and brake presses, to cut and form sheet metal into the desired shapes and sizes.
• Utilize various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, or spot welding) to join metal components together and create durable and structurally sound assemblies.
• Install fabricated sheet metal products, including ductwork, roofing, flashing, and other components, ensuring accurate alignment and adherence to safety standards.
• Determine the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal for specific projects based on factors like the product's purpose, structural requirements, and environmental conditions.
• Apply finishes to sheet metal surfaces, such as painting, galvanizing, or applying protective coatings, to enhance durability and appearance.
• Conduct maintenance and repair work on existing sheet metal installations, ensuring they remain functional and safe.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, specifications, and client requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and report any faults or malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to sheet metal fabrication and installation, ensuring effective and efficient project execution.
Work Experience and Skills:
• At least three years of relevant experience.
• Trade qualification or apprenticeship in sheet metal fabrication or a related field.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of different types of sheet metal materials and their applications.
• Competence in using hand and power tools commonly used in sheet metal work.
• Strong welding and metal joining skills.
• Attention to detail and precision in measurements and fabrication.
• Physical strength and stamina to handle large sheets of metal and operate heavy machinery.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations.
Salary package: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum
