Mental Health Clinical Practitioner

Summary:
1.Responsible for timely and accurate documentation
2. Flexible to work at other program facilities as needed.
3. Have strong boundaries and compartmentalizing skills.
4. ability to help immigrant children to regulate in a new environment/culture, teach self-regulating skills and copying skills.
5. Ability to help youth cope with various levels of trauma
6. Complete mental health assessments and documentation according to funder deadlines.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Master’s degree (M.A.) in clinical social work, counseling, clinical psychology, psychology, criminal psychology, social service administration or other related degree; and one to two years of clinical practice experience in either a hospital or community setting providing group and/or individual therapy.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Status as an LPC, LSW or a relevant certification or licensure is required (or must be obtained within 1 year of hire). Certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention techniques (an internal certification) will be required upon hire.
Language Skills: Fluency in a second language, both written and oral, is required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Other Qualifications:
o At least 21 years of age.
o A valid driver’s license may be required.
o Must be able to pass a background check as required by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
