Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital located in Harrisonburg, Virginia is hiring a Surgical Tech for the Cardiac Operating Room!

Hours are: Monday through Friday 6:30am to 2:30pm and required call. Candidate must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for call purposes.

$15,000 Sign on Bonus available for qualified candidates. Relocation assistance can be provided!

Department Overview:
We are made up of two operating rooms and one hybrid OR. The Surgical Tech will work with a multi-disciplinary team of Cardio-thoracic Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists, and Physician Assistants and Registered Nurses. Cardiac procedures we perform include:
- Aortic Root Replacement
- Pericardiectomy
- Thoracotomy
- Transmyocardial Revascularization
- Tricuspid Valve Repair/Replacement
- Ventricular Assist Device Placement
- Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery
- Cardiac repairs for:
- Aortic Aneurysm/Dissection (Ascending & Descending)
- Atrial Myxoma
- Atrial Septal Defect
- Patent Foramen Ovale
- Ventricular Septal Defect
- Ventricular Aneurysm

Surgical Technologists will aid the surgeon and operating room nurse in preparing for and performing surgeries. Surgical tech prepares operating room instrument set up for the procedure. Will help prepare patient and pass surgical instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the surgery. Surgical Tech knows the specific uses of all equipment & supplies used for surgical procedures. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon during the procedure and displays dexterity of the required instrumentation. Surgical Tech sees safety and efficient performance of the surgical procedure, tracks instruments and supplies and sees that all equipment is accounted for after the surgery. Surgical Tech identifies emergency situations and uses sound judgement in a calm & efficient manner.
Will be responsible for cleaning and stocking the operating room for the next procedure.

Required Education/Certifications/License:
- Trade School Graduate – Surgical Technologist
- Corpsman experience or operating room procedures from military or vocation training program will be highly considered
- Cardiac Operating Room Surgical Tech experience Preferred but Open to a new grad!
- Certified Surgical Tech required
- VA Surg Techs are required to be licensed with the VBOM
- BLS Certification
