About the Job

Duties include:
Planning and coordinating the production of tomato crops.
Maintaining crop production by maintaining optimal growing conditions.
Organising and conducting glasshouse operations.
Directing and overseeing general glasshouse activities such as fertigation e and pest control.
Ensuring the Maintenance of glass house equipment, and water supply systems.
Maintaining and evaluating records of glasshouse activities, planning crop preparation and production to meet customer requirements.
Managing finances and budgets.
Oversee the selection training, and supervision of staff and contractors,
Establish and monitor hydroponic crops,
Plan a growing-on program.
Develop horticultural production plans and growing programs.
Identify risk and apply risk management processes.
Monitor the implementation of WHS, quality and food safety programs.

Skills/Qualifications and Experience Required for the Role
At least relevant AQF Cert III or Cert IV qualifications or equivalent OR 3 years employment experience as a Protected Cropping Grower with relevant formal training OR 5 years employment experience as a Protected Cropping Grower with no formal training.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a tomato glasshouse environment, preferably with experience in all areas of crop work.
Demonstrated thorough knowledge and understanding of tomato crop:
nutrition requirements relevant to all stages of crop cycle, pest and disease management and growing strategies.
Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data/information to make soundrecommendations for remedial actions and improvement strategies.
Proven ability to effectively undertake operational troubleshooting of common water system,heating system and equipment issues within a glasshouse.
Experience/exposure in effectively utilising Priva and NITEA systems (or similar).
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience to develop high performing teams.
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with others to ensure team success, including contributing to the success of the broader Guyra growing team and business.
Be outcome focused with a track record of achieving performance, quality and safety targets.
Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated resilience, positivity and perseverance.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Strong IT skills.
Outstanding commitment to WHS, quality, hygiene and food safety.
Understanding/training in crop registration.
Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a multicultural and multilingual working environment.

Salary:
$70,000-$85,000 p.a. plus super.
