Mobile Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:
As a Mobile Maintenance Technician at Uni V Solutions, you will work under general supervision, performing skilled maintenance tasks across various fields. Your responsibilities will include installing, altering, maintaining, and repairing facilities and equipment in locations associated with the District's Preventive Maintenance (PM) program. You may assist journey-level maintenance staff or handle journey-level tasks for short durations, as well as perform related duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on your assignment, your duties may encompass the following:
- Conduct inspections of equipment and facilities to determine preventive maintenance steps.
- Identify hazards, deficiencies, and necessary corrections.
- Perform tasks related to roof repairs.
- Engage in welding tasks in both shop and field settings, including welding, burning, and cutting metals for equipment construction and repair, as well as minor sheet metal work.
- Perform preventive maintenance on heating systems, including checking boiler pressure, water levels, pumps, oil, and grease.
- Change filters on heating and air conditioning units.
- Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures such as valves, faucets, stools, urinals, and drains.
- Assist in repairing hot and cold univents, soldered unions, replacing thermostats, motors, oil, valves, and belts.
- Perform preventive maintenance and limited repairs on locks and door closures.
- Maintain and repair athletic field facilities, cyclone fencing, and playground equipment.
- Help repair or construct wooden articles and structures.
- Install, maintain, and handle minor electrical work, including receptacle, switch, light, fluorescent ballast, and de-fuser replacement.
- Clean and maintain intercom phone switches.
- Repair broken tiles and other floor coverings.
- Paint over vandalized walls.
- Recondition, repair, or replace lockers.
- Maintain and repair window covers, curtain rods, and related apparatus.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, replacements, and orders.
- Perform repairs or construction involving concrete or asphalt.
- Test, run, and service emergency generators.
- Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of swimming pools, pool filters, and pool pumps, including monitoring chlorine and acid levels and managing pool chlorinator chemicals.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Knowledge of safe work practices, OSHA regulations, building codes, and equipment maintenance.
- Trade-level skills in welding, roofing, locksmith, carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections and various trade-level tasks.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment, including ladders and scaffolding.
- Physical strength to handle heavy labor tasks, lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance, and up to 100 lbs. with appropriate tools or assistance.
- Strong record-keeping abilities.
- Good command of the English language for written and verbal communication.
- Skill in identifying workplace hazards and taking corrective actions.
- Capacity to follow both oral and written instructions.
- The ability to establish cooperative working relationships with colleagues.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent with skilled trade-level training or experience in at least two of the following areas: welding, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, roofing, painting, or locksmith.
- Two years of experience in semi-skilled and skilled trade-level building and equipment preventive maintenance and general repair work.
Salary Range:
- The salary range for this position is between 22-30 per hour, or it will be based on experience.
