Full-time Engineering Manager

at Jobisite in Wisconsin

The Engineering Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the department to achieve the growth, quality, and financial objectives of the company. The Engineering Manager will provide support for sales, drafting/engineering, and manufacturing departments while assuring product and design integrity.

The position will initiate continuous improvement in processes and procedures, assign projects, and provide overall direction and support to all department staff. The Engineering Manager will establish standards of performance, measure results, analyze workflow, resolve problems, and actively participate in strategic and budget planning activities. The successful candidate will have experience leading engineering functions in the design and creation of made-to-order capital equipment sold to end users.

What You Will Do

Develop and execute the annual business plans and manage to the plans and budget
Coordinate all design activities of the team, interface with key cross-functional groups such as purchasing, quality assurance, manufacturing, sales, etc. and report project status for the assigned projects
Serve as the technical leader and project manager for significant development projects. Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
Develop and maintain product standards, training systems, processes and best practices and then ensure consistency between product lines
Implement and/or maintain a product data management system that integrates with our ERP system compliant to ISO 9001
Work with manufacturing, operations, and quality to review and monitor quality and process improvements and new product development
Review operations and plans to meet requirements for sales planning and to ascertain engineering requirements
Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project
Direct the review of production costs and product quality, and modify production to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division
Evaluate product non-conformance and recommend design modifications
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and development to all members of the team

What You Have to Offer

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (MBA preferred) with 10+ years of experience in relevant Engineering disciplines
• Demonstrated effective strategy development that results in achieving business objectives
• Cross functional leadership experience with positive business impact
• 7+ years leadership experience : if they have led teams that specifically created the capital equipment since this is directly related to designing and developing custom made to order capital goods
