Full-time SNOW LABORERS (CANTON)

at BrightView Landscapes in Michigan

Snow Tech
Looking for an opportunity where success comes naturally? Then you may have found your crew. We’re looking for a Snow Tech to join our team.
Here’s what you’d do:
Snow Tech you will be responsible for performing all tasks related to snow removal. Shifts are on-call and range from 6 to 12 hours and are often overnight depending on the storm event. May require longer hours for larger storms. The season starts on the first snow fall.
You’d be responsible for:
• Responsible for performing all tasks related to snow removal, including operating ATV plows, snow blowers, snow shovels and e-pokes (salt spreaders).
• Work with Sidewalk-Crew Leaders as a team to efficiently and safely complete each assignment
You might be a good fit if you have:
• 18 years of age or older
• Work well under pressure while observing safety guidelines with minimal supervision
• Have a smart phone (to download and use our attendance tracker App)
• Have dependable transportation
• You must be able to work on an On-Call basis; with 1-3 hours advanced notice and commit to reported when contacted by the Report time.
• Able to lawfully work in the USA
SNOW PLOW / SALT TRUCK / TEAM DRIVER:

Looking for an opportunity where success comes naturally? Then you may have found your crew. We’re looking for a Crew Member Driver to join our team.
Here’s what you’d do:
The Crew Member Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently producing quality landscape service that meets or exceeds the standards of clients and management.
You’d be responsible for:
Preparing trucks for the day:
• Load any equipment and/or supplies onto trucks
• Secure all equipment
• Maintain and correctly use issued personal protective equipment.
• Removing snow using a snowplow and heavy equipment for several hours at a time, depending on the amount of snowfall
Performing maintenance on properties:
• Safely operate equipment with all necessary personal protective equipment
• Removing snow using a snowplow and heavy equipment for several hours at a time, depending on the amount of snowfall
Performing maintenance on equipment:
• Unload equipment from trucks
• Wash equipment and truck
Snow removal:
• Must be available nights, weekends and holidays
• Removing snow using a snow plow and heavy equipment for several hours at a time, depending on the amount of snowfall
• Driving PLOW AND Team as needed
• Assisting the crew as needed
You might be a good fit if you have:
• Valid Driver’s License with Chauffer’s Endorsement (BY OFFER DATE)
• Ability to pass a DDOT Physical (includes a Drug Test)
• MINIMUM 1 YEAR SNOW PLOW experience IN A PROFESSIONAL SETTING
• Ability to operate various snow removal machines as well as a shovel and salt spreader
• Ability to operate various vehicles, with or without trailers
• Ability to safely perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of various landscaping equipment and materials, including, but not limited to backpack blowers, large containers of mulch/plant material, various sizes of lawnmowers, etc.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power equipment, including but not limited to manual and powered sawing and cutting equipment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk up to 10 miles a day, sometimes uphill and on uneven terrain, often while carrying, pushing, or pulling equipment, materials, or debris.
• Ability to bend and kneel up to 9 hours or more a day
• Ability to work hours that vary and may exceed 12 hours per day
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, precipitation)
And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Ability to leverage and use Snow Blowers and Salt Spreaders
• Noise level may be loud at times and use of ear plugs may be required (e.g., outdoor conditions, snow blowers, plows, etc)
Equipment Operator; Snow
Here’s what you’d do:
The Snow Equipment Operator must be interested in learning to do all aspects of snow removal during the winter. Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.
You’d be responsible for:
• Removing snow using a snow plow and heavy equipment for several hours at a time, depending on the amount of snowfall
• Being available each time it snows and report either to a central location or directly to the jobsite
• Removing snow in appropriate locations, avoiding piling it on trees, shrubs, fire hydrants or sidewalks
• Reporting any concerns or incidents to your direct Supervisor
• Filling out a job sheet as soon as you are finished working after each snow removal operation
• Participating in maintaining a safe and secure work environment for team employees and clients by adhering to company safety policies
• Being aware of safety issues or concerns, and report them to the appropriate Supervisor
• Performing other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager
You might be a good fit if you have:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License with a Chauffer’s endorsement and the ability to drive to a variety of work locations in assigned territory
• Reliable transportation to and from any work site
• Prior experience operating snow plow equipment and heavy equipment
• Able to work overnight in the winter months
And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:
• Ability to participate in routine maintenance of equipment
• Experience working efficiently in a production-driven / fast paced environment
• Physically able to work outside, sometimes in extreme weather conditions with sporadic hours based on a snow event
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to climb in and out of equipment
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to safely operate equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Willing to dress appropriately for all weather conditions
• Able to work overnight in the winter month
• Dependability
