Process Engineer - Pet Food

The Process Engineer-pet food supports the development of new or improved making processes and early research initiatives that advance equipment designs, improve end-product characteristics, and result in cutting edge process and factory controls. This position reports to the Senior Process Engineer and collaborates with the HQ R&D team, the HQ Equipment Design teams (extruder, dryer, coater, etc.), and with HQ Sales teams. Detail responsibilities are as below:
Support, grow, and learn from the Senior Process Engineer – Pet Food.
Propose new or improved Product and Process Projects for the Equipment and Process Innovation Grid.
Troubleshoot existing equipment or processes and support corrective actions with existing customers.
Lead and support the delivery of the approved Product and Process Innovation Projects in partnership with HQ R&D and Design Engineers.
Use drafting tools or computer-assisted design software (2-D & 3-D).
Utilize your unique process expertise, to fill gaps on the team, to solve design challenges.
Propose Early Research Projects that advance our basic understanding of the application or product by conducting literature searches to create a hypothesis, prepare protocols for the HQ R&D team to conduct, and summarize the findings.
Assist with commissioning of new process prototypes.
Assist with Pilot Plant research studies.
Support customers by providing technical assistance and presentations.
International Travel up to 33%.
