The City of Pueblo is hiring a Director of Just Transitions Program! This appointed, grant funded position offers you an attractive pay and benefits package as well as opportunities to make positive changes to the local community. As the Director of Just Transitions Program, you will serve as the dedicated, professional counterpart to the Pueblo Just Transition Steering Committee. The Steering Committee was formed to address the transformational economic challenges incident to the closure of Xcel, Comanche 3 power plant. You will provide targeted support for economic development, capacity building, and community development as outlined in the Colorado Just Transitions Action Plan. You will also work to help and create a program protecting the economic security of coal workers and their families by assisting displaced workers to find and secure new jobs when Comanche 3 closes. Lastly, you will serve as the liaison with the Colorado State Office of Just Transitions, Community and Economic Development Officer, Pueblo Economic Development Corporation (PEDCO), Xcel Energy Administration, and other energy companies as appropriate.
