As an Entry-Level SQL Developer, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing data for our organization. You will work closely with the development team and database administrators to design, develop, and maintain SQL databases, queries, and reports. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about data analysis and has a strong foundation in SQL.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Development: Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases to store and organize data effectively. Create tables, views, stored procedures, and functions as required.
Query Optimization: Write efficient SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data from databases. Optimize query performance by analyzing execution plans and indexing strategies.
Data Analysis: Analyze complex datasets using SQL to extract meaningful insights and identify trends. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide accurate reports.
Data Integration: Collaborate with other teams to integrate data from various sources into SQL databases. Ensure data quality and consistency through data cleansing and validation processes.
Database Maintenance: Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including monitoring performance, identifying and resolving issues, and implementing backup and recovery strategies.
Documentation: Document database schemas, query logic, and data flow processes for future reference. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, data dictionaries, and data lineage.
Collaboration: Work closely with the development team, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide effective solutions. Collaborate on projects and contribute to team discussions.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data integrity problems, and query errors. Implement appropriate solutions and workarounds.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL fundamentals.
Proficiency in writing SQL queries, including joins, subqueries, and aggregations.
Familiarity with database design principles, normalization, and indexing.
Basic understanding of database administration tasks, such as backup and recovery.
Knowledge of query optimization techniques and performance tuning.
Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with any relational database management system (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
Knowledge of data modeling concepts and tools.
Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#).
Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for report generation.
