Full-time Roosevelt Beacons School Success Senior Coordinator

at Jobisite in Minnesota

1.  Job Summary:

The Beacons School Success Senior Coordinator assists in the day to day operations of the Beacons School Success Center overseeing various program areas. The incumbent ensures quality customer service and a safe, fun and positive environment at the assigned school location. The incumbent supervises staff and provides work direction to volunteers and school staff. 

2.  Essential Functions:

Assists in the day to day operations of Beacons School Success Center programs working closely with the Program Director and school staff focusing on youth development and academics.
Assists in the implementation of program curriculum, evaluation of program results and identification of areas for improvement to achieve desired goals and objectives.
Supports the coordination of processes for daily programming to include, but not limited to, scheduling, recruitment, retention, data collection and reporting, behavior management, registration and transportation.
Recruits, hires, on boards, trains and supervises staff which deliver quality programs and services which meet program needs.
Ensures a high level of customer service which enhances the member, program participant and guest experience and satisfaction.
Fosters a safe and respectful environment within a diverse community of youth, families, volunteers, and partner agencies.
Maintain CACFP and Minnesota Department of Health Licensing for meals and snacks, if applicable.

3.  Relationships:

This position reports to the Program Director who reports to the Beacons School Success Center Director. The incumbent supervises program staff. The incumbent regularly interacts with school staff, volunteers, youth, parents, and community agency partners. 

 4.  Qualifications:

Required:

Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Commitment to working with school age children and youth in a recreational setting.
Ability to make independent decisions, set priorities, and work as a team.
Ability to multitask and respond quickly and accurately in a customer focused work environment.
Ability to obtain adult and child CPR or CPR/PR, First Aid, and AED Certifications within 30 days of hire date.
Ability to work with diverse groups of people.

Preferred:

Education and/or experience in child development, child guidance, human relations, communication, or recreational programs.
Skilled in group processes, group facilitation, and co-facilitation.
Multilingual
Knowledge of CACFP Program requirements

 5.  Work Conditions:

Ability to travel locally between locations to attend meetings, training, and events.
Ability to move throughout a school building regularly throughout the day.
Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities.
Work environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces with several groups talking amongst themselves concurrently.
May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the environment.
Perform all physical aspects of the position, including moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.

 6.  Additional Notes:

This job description represents the major functions of the position but is not intended to be all-inclusive.
