Family Law Associate

The Law Offices of Thomas Stahl, a family and estate planning law firm with it’s main office in Columbia, MD is seeking an associate attorney to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate must have trial experience in family law. Experience with estate planning, probate, and estate litigation experience a plus. The candidate must be able to excel in a fast-paced collaborative environment and provide our clients with quality representation.

Responsibilities and Requirements
• Manage family law, estate planning, probate and estate litigation cases
• Assist with other cases as needed
• Prepare and draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, financial statements, and other documents
• Taking depositions and affidavits of clients and witnesses
• Conduct and analyze legal research
• Able to manage timelines and readily adapt to changes
• Able to manage client expectations and demands
• Able to manage multiple cases simultaneously

Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year of family law experience
• Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience
• Estate planning, probate and estate litigation experience a plus
• Admission to Maryland Bar required
• Admission to DC Bar is a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Good writing and editing skills
• Good organization skills
• Experience with Microsoft applications suite
• Experience with case management software (Clio)
• Able to manage multiple caseloads
