CORPORATE TAX DIRECTOR - PITTSBURGH, PA

Federated Hermes has an exciting opportunity for a corporate tax director who will oversee and advise senior management on all tax matters impacting our global organization. Duties include monitoring and optimizing Federated Hermes’ global tax structure, providing technical tax guidance to Federated Hermes and its consolidated companies, ensuring compliance with applicable tax rules and regulations, conducting due diligence on acquisitions, and managing the tax-related information in our SEC and various other filings. The Director interacts with all levels of employees across the globe including executive management and appreciates the challenge of working in a demanding and deadline-driven environment.

MAJOR DUTIES:
The Corporate Tax Director provides technical tax guidance for all domestic and international corporate entities to optimize their federal, state and local tax positions to ensure compliance with applicable tax rules and regulations, to review and file required tax returns and to provide guidance for the proper recording and disclosure of tax-related transactions in financial statements.
• Conduct and/or oversee tax research related to domestic and international corporate tax matters for the Federated Hermes companies and advise senior management on overall tax strategy.
• Manage corporate tax team in Pittsburgh, including balancing workload, ensuring proper staffing, and operating within budgeted expenses.
• Prepare research and analysis related to the accounting/financial reporting of Federated Hermes, Inc., and various reporting subsidiaries, including deferred tax assets and liabilities.
• Manage and act as the primary liaison for all federal, state and local tax audits as well as external auditors in managing audit requests.
• Coordinate the tax aspects of intercompany activities, including transfer pricing studies for domestic and international subsidiaries.
• Coordinate foreign tax policies and initiatives for Federated Hermes, Inc., working in conjunction with the tax team of Federated Hermes Limited located in London.
• Perform and/or coordinate tax due diligence reviews of potential acquisitions.
• Prepare and maintain departmental controls and procedures in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required; accounting or business administration with at least 12 hours in accounting. CPA certification required.
• Minimum 10 years of professional tax experience including multinational experience with public accounting, or a combination of public accounting and corporate experience required. Prior supervisory experience a plus.
• Knowledge of corporate tax principles and policies as well as accounting for income taxes, including comprehensive knowledge of ASC 740.
• Proven technical research skills coupled with practical interpretations and applications required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executive management as well as colleagues and staff.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel required.
