GVI, Inc, is a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and a Department of Defense industry leader, is seeking Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Team in Newport, RI!

GVI is supporting customers from various submarine systems department. This position will supporting the Towed Array Handling Equipment Facility (TAHEF) group in Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport and ideal for prior enlisted Navy personnel in the following rating/classifications: Sonar Tech, Electronics Technician, Machinist Mate (submarine or surface).

Prior military/navy service preferred but not required.

Qualified Candidates will be expected to:

Troubleshoot, disassemble, overhaul, end repair various mechanical components (motors, pumps, hydraulic operators, valves, etc.) of the fleet's towed array handling systems.
Read, interpret technical drawings, follow documented repair and test procedures
Perform hydrostatic, pressure, and other required testing for valves, motors, and hydraulic operators
Provide recommendation for process improvements, work procedure changes, based on sound analysis and engineering principles.
Attend production meetings as needed, and respond to customers requests


Position Requirements:

US Citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance; candidates currently possessing an Active Secret Clearance are preferred.
High School graduate, or GED.
Associate/Vocational degree preferred but not required.
Minimum of four (4) years related experience in submarine systems operation, maintenance.
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong preference will be given to those candidates with experience in Towed Handling Systems, Towed Arrays, and Hull Sensor Systems gained through prior enlistment with the Navy.
