Job Summary
For those interested in Laboratory Technician I role, then this is the perfect job for you. You will be responsible for running samples on a daily basis using different types of instrumentation, ICP-MS, classical wetlab analyses, GC-MS and particle counters. You will also be responsible to review data and report data to the customer. Contractor must be able to intelligently discuss data with customer.

Job Description
Perform routine analysis as assigned
Prepare samples and assist other analysts with sample preparation
Assist in procedural improvements and participate in problem solving activities
Perform general maintenance of laboratory
Completes all other additional assignments as required
Assist in preparation of sample kits and sample bottles
Clean labware and other accessories
Prepare required reagents and standards

Skills Required
Capable of learning, understanding and following SOP’s to perform assigned duties for both routine and non-routine procedures
Ability to understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals
Ability to operate and maintain assigned laboratory instruments
Good computer skills are required (data entry, Word, Excel, etc.) is preferred
Must be able to work in a team environment with good communication skills.
Ability to work independently while sampling at clients’ facilities
Ability to recognize problems with analytical results and variations due to sample type and effectively communicate problems to the appropriate level
Must have initiative and be self-motivated.
Good organization skills.
Good verbal and written skills
Ability to work under time pressure
Ability to change plans and work environment on short notice
Must be able to stand for hours at a time
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with the help of coworkers

Education/Training/Certifications
Education should be a B.S. Degree in Chemistry or a related Scientific Discipline OR associate degree in science (preferably Chemistry) with at least 2 years Lab experience.

Additional Requirements
Work Schedule: Contractor will work nights 7pm - 7am either Sunday - Tuesday every other Saturday or Wednesday - Friday every other Saturday. contractor will train M-F 8am - 5pm for approx. 1 week.

Pay Rate/Salary
$20.50 per hour
