What You’ll Be Doing
Support our clients, also known as ‘Pivoters’ in navigating the app-delivered, coach-guided program and CO sensor.
Provide tobacco treatment education, based on clinical guidelines and health coaching best practices.
Manage progress and accountability of Pivoters’ actions in coaching portal, chat interface and Pivot application.
Participate in the coaching team meetings to support development of Pivoters’ journey as well as internal operations of the coaching team.
Engage in a process of continuous training, learning and professional growth, including Coaching Grand Rounds, to ensure delivery of the latest evidence-based practices, content knowledge and skills.
What You Should Have
A solid foundation in health coaching techniques and adult learning theories.
Knowledge of models of motivation and behavior change science including: Transtheoretical Model, Self Determination Theory, and Social Cognitive Theory.
Familiarity with and experience applying evidence-based tobacco dependence treatment strategies with individuals or groups.
Technical proficiency and understanding in digital health coaching.
Strong organizational skills, with an emphasis on time management and attention to detail.
Ability to work as a team member with excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
Adaptability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment with shifting priorities.
Working Environment
This is a full-time, remote position coaching clients through text-based messaging.
Must have a home office or other set-aside space to support an effective working environment conducive to (a) delivering a high-quality coaching experience for Pivoters and (b) participating in team and individual meetings via video chat and other technologies.
Some travel (up to 2 times per calendar year) for training, team and company events which may require travel outside of normal working hours at Pivot HQ in San Carlos, CA.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in public health, psychology, social work or other health-related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience (Health Coach I) or 3 years of experience (Health Coach II) in tobacco dependence treatment and/or health coaching.
Certification from an accredited professional health coach training program preferred (i.e. Wellcoaches, Duke Integrative), National Board Certification preferred.
Tobacco Treatment Specialist training (required) and NCTTP certification (preferred).
Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems (CRM), client portals, electronic health records, or other client/patient management technologies highly desirable, but not required.
