Full-time SALES MANAGER

at Pragda LLC in New York

As we embark on a period of growth, PRAGDA is looking for talented film lovers to join our team.

A leading distributor of Latin American, Spanish, and Latinx cinema, PRAGDA works with the finest contemporary documentaries and features produced each year. Our films are inspiring, challenging, and entertaining. They cover a wide array of the region’s hottest topics, including the global economy, DACA, immigration and exile, feminism, education, international politics, and more.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for the sale strategy of our films to the educational market (university libraries, university departments, public libraries, and educational VoD platforms), including the sale and management of our educational program Spanish Film Club. The Sales Manager will also assist the team with sales to non-theatrical markets and SVoD platforms as needed. Additional sale outlets will be incorporated as we grow.

The ideal candidate must have at least two years of experience in educational media sales and will have an interest in Spanish and Latin American film and a strong commitment to bringing these cinemas to the world.

This is a full-time, remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Act as a day-to-day sales lead.
-Maximize Pragda’s current list of clients and identify new prospect clients, both generic to our overall film collection and specific to each film release.
-Develop superior customer service relationships with clients and partners, such as libraries, university departments, film clubs, etc. Identify their needs and generate interest in our films.
-Gather information on customers’ trends, plans, priorities, and obstacles by regularly communicating with them via phone, email, video conference, etc.
-Maintain an in-depth database of distribution trends among clients.
-Analyze and anticipate key market trends that could affect distribution and revenue.
Identify and target prospect platforms, systems for potential film sale distribution and partnerships
-Negotiate rates with clients and partners; and communicate available discounts or promotions.
-Manage all stages of invoicing, payment processing (including follow-up pending payments regularly), and delivery of licensed films.
-Maintain comprehensive records and data entry on prospect and current clients and partnerships.
-Perform quantitative analysis and tracking results on a monthly and semester basis.
-Represent Pragda at conferences and film markets as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. Major or minor in Film, Media, or Communications preferred.
-3-5 years of professional experience in film sales and/or distribution to educational markets, working with libraries, professors, and educational VoD platforms.
-Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, with strong fluency in both verbal and written communication.
-Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize to meet deadlines.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team, as well as independently.
-Attention to detail and problem-solving skills – must be meticulous and well organized.
-Self-starter, driven, efficient, curious, and resourceful.
-Superb customer service. Self-directed, tactful, and diplomatic with a clear, courteous, and professional manner
-High computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel) and the ability to learn and manage new software and platforms quickly.
-Extensive data analysis experience.
-Competent in budget management and other basic financial responsibilities required to determine and track income, as well as report sales status updates.
