IOM Grain LLC is a fast-growing company specializing in high-quality, food-grade soybean supply chains. Based in Portland, Indiana, we are building a strong and sustainable network of farmers across the Midwest.

We are looking for a hands-on, driven Agronomy Technician to lead the development of our soybean production network through seed sales and grain procurement.

This is a field-first, relationship-driven role with direct impact on company growth.

Your Role

You will be at the heart of our operations, working directly with farmers to expand acreage, improve quality, and secure grain supply.

Seed Sales Development

● Promote and sell soybean seed varieties to farmers

● Build and grow a strong customer base

● Negotiate seed programs and acreage commitments

Grain Procurement

● Source and secure soybean production from growers

● Negotiate grain purchase agreements

● Recommend and execute pricing strategies within company guidelines

Farmer Relationship Management

● Develop long-term partnerships with producers

● Provide agronomic support and crop monitoring

● Act as a trusted advisor in the field

Business Development & Reporting

● Track volumes, forecasts, and pipeline

● Contribute to company growth strategy

● Support logistics coordination when needed

What We’re Looking For

Education

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field

Experience

● Entry-level accepted

● Strong connection to agriculture required

● Knowledge of Midwest farming practices is a plus

● Strong farmer mindset (“boots on the ground”)

● Self-starter with entrepreneurial drive

● Strong negotiation and relationship skills

● Persistent, adaptable, and results-oriented

● Passion for building something long-term

This role is NOT a desk job. You must enjoy being in the field, with farmers, every day.

Work Location

● Based in Portland, Indiana (47431)

● Daily field travel across the region
