Manufacturing Customer Service Representative job description

Purpose
The customer service representative position is responsible for processing orders for merchandise received by mail, telephone, fax or e-mail or personally from customers or company employees.

Job Responsibilities
• Answer heavy volume of incoming customer calls and emails
• Check order status- follow orders to make sure delivered by specific date
• Keep customer informed on when will it ship; when did it ship
• Add to or change existing orders- be able to handle changes out of nowhere even after order has been sent to manufacturing
• Be able to answer questions about our products
• Enter orders using Infor software
• Interact with shipping department and manufacturing to assure customer satisfaction

Qualifications
• Ability to multi task – answer phone and enter orders
• Ability to handle surprises- changes after order has done been sent to manufacturing
• Good Math skills and the ability to deal with numbers all day
• Experience in providing quality customer service and be able to handle all types of customers
• Superior phone and email etiquette – verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with high volume email correspondence
• Experience using Outlook, Word, Excel and databases
• Experience in paper manufacturing is preferred but not required
• Experience with Oracle, NSAP, Job shop or Infor is preferred but not required
• High school diploma or GED

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
