Sr. Database Admin needs five and 10 years of Database Administration experience required
Sr. Database Admin requires:
Experience administering Oracle databases on Exadata required
• Experience administering MS SQL Server 2005 – 2019 preferred
• Experience with Oracle High Availability and Clusters required
• Experience with general administration of Exadata preferred
• Experience with disaster recovery set-up, administration and fail-over procedures preferred
• Experience with Oracle Cluster File System, Real Application Cluster(RAC) and Automatic Storage Management(ASM) preferred
• Experience with Storage Area Network and Network Attached Storage technology required
• Experience with and knowledge about various database architectures and implementation and management of networked database computing structures strongly preferred
• Experience implementing, configuring, and performance tuning multiple Oracle 12c and 19c instances per machine required.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

Sr. Database Admin duties:
• Install, configure, and upgrade Database Management System and related tools, creating primary database storage structures
• Aid Developers with optimizing their applications, queries, etc.
• Participate in successful database upgrades, new data structures, and the leveraging of upgrades and technical advances (such as new features, functions, and methods) in new versions of the Oracle and Microsoft SQL (Structured Query Language) server.
• Monitor database environments, identify performance bottlenecks and issues, and resolve same.
• Work with business units to understand how they use the Oracle and SQL databases; make recommendations on more efficient use of applications as it pertains to database performance.
• Harness current technical developments and be supportable in a manner to deliver uptime reliability within specific commitments
• Participate in the definition of project scope, objectives, methods, and procedures and other phases of planning and design
• Participate in requirements definition studies, develop workflows of current and proposed system operations, collect, and organize pertinent system documentation, and develop system documentation.
• Prepare programming specifications; code and compile SQL scripts and stored procedures and triggers; develop test plans; test and debug programs.
• Perform operational Oracle and SQL database administration, including installation, backups, and security.
• Provide status and activity reports; report progress of assignments that may affect the outcome of the project.
• Identify and resolve problems with production systems.
• Support development, test, and production environments, including general administration
• Install and configure system and third-party software packages and provide system and application support to all end-users.
• Promote changes to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production environments following change management processes
• Monitor, manage and resolve incoming Service Desk tickets.
• Other duties as assigned.
