PeopleReady ofSanta Barbara, CA is now hiring Apartment Maintenance Workers!We are looking for a qualified individual to work on our maintenance team. An excellent maintenance technician must be reliable and have a great eye for detail. They must have technical skills and knowledge of various crafts such as carpentry, flooring, cabinetry, doors, locks, plumbing etc. They must be able to maintain a professional attitude with tenants and with other staff. The goal is to ensure that our properties are in a good and safe condition at all times. APPLICANTS MUST possess the ability to speak, read and write in Spanish and in English fluently

Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $17 / hour
What you'll be doing as a Apartment Maintenance Worker:

• Problem solve to determine maintenance issues
• Make all necessary repairs using appropriate methods and tools
• Inspect and maintain general building functions (heating, ventilation, stairs, exterior paint, gutters, grounds etc.)
• Maintain a courteous and professional attitude
• Ensure adherence to quality standards as well as health and safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with superiors and office staff

Job requirements:

• Documentation for your work eligibility in the United States
• At least 5 years of proven experience in maintenance with supervision of others or similar role
• Good technical knowledge of building systems, related tools and uses
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards, health and safety practices and regulations
• Must have a clean driving record
• Ability to complete tasks without supervision
• Basic knowledge and experience in the following areas: carpentry, cabinetry, tile, floor installation, electrical, painting, and plumbing
• A solid ability to use a computer and basic office software is a plus
• Ability to multi-task
• Good attention to detail
• A desire to grow and learn additional skills
• Ability to work well and communicate with the public and with co-workers
• Ability to take direction and execute job requirements with little supervision
• Ability to think logically and problem solve
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Ability to have flexibility with regards to assigned duties: all of our staff perform various duties and are expected to perform functions not normally associated with their positions.
• Scheduling flexibility: occasionally there are after hour's emergency issues
