Furniture/Warehouse Administrator

General Description:
Furniture/Warehouse Administrator: Functional areas of responsibility include financial management, warehouse management, and accountability for appliances and furnishings.


Specific Tasks:
• Receive work requests from government personnel in the following positions: Dormitory Superintendent, Airman Dorm Leaders, Housing Program Manager, Assistant Housing Program Manager and Housing Element Chief. Work includes; issue furnishings and/or appliances including pickup and delivery services. Requesting, receiving, issuing storage, providing budgeting input, delivery, and pick up all government owned furnishings and appliances authorized for use in designated government owned facilities and the Installation Commander’s home on Dover AFB DE. This includes the delivery, removal and turn-in of mass furnishings in unaccompanied housing. Make partial deliveries based upon availability of assets. You will also determine purchasing requirements and submit purchase requests to the housing element chief for approval.
• Conduct annual inventory of 100 percent of the furnishings assets in the warehouse and identify deficiencies. You will perform a semi-annual inventory of high value or Pilferable items in the warehouses. You are the primary custodian for all furnishings assets.
• Review annual assessment of furnishings from Housing Program Manager and Airmen Dorm Leaders (ADLs) and prepare plan for acquisition, repair or disposal of items based upon the assessment. Perform and document an annual joint inventory of all furniture and appliances located in storage warehouse(s). Submit proper documentation to the housing element chief to reflect adjustments and reconcile asset balances. The inventory must be completed within 45 working days after the contract start date. Provide the inventory to the Housing Element Chief and authorized representative for review within 2 workdays of completion of inventory. Upon receipt of the inventory, the government will accept/reject and make changes as necessary. You will adjust the inventory records as required by the government within 5 calendar days of concurrence.
• Provide and maintain an automated work order and warranty system to control all repairs, replacement, and maintenance of furnishings and appliances.
• Maintain and update inventory list in enterprise military housing (eMH) based on initial acquisitions, transfers, issues/turn-ins, annual assessments and/or final disposition of furnishings items using a government-provided computer.
• Establish a furnishings repair program and perform maintenance and repair on furnishings as required; perform touch-up (repairing, refinishing) and cleaning of all government furnishings and appliances as required; maintain furnishings to preserve a safe, serviceable, and clean (spot and odor free) condition; and perform tightening and adjusting of hardware and minor re-gluing.
• Schedule, deliver, install and pick up furnishings and appliances to include assembly and disassembly of furniture items.
• Accomplish deliveries and pickups within 2 working days of request unless otherwise directed. Must be able to receive work requests via telephone, e-mail, and text messages. You will acknowledge receipt no later than close of business of the same duty day. You will maintain enterprise military housing (eMH) website and computer generated accounts managed within eMH.
• Maintain sufficient furnishings backup stock. You are required to notify the Housing Element Chief when a delivery request will deplete the stock in the warehouse to less than 3% as determined by the inventory.
• Remove, load and unload, unpack, assemble, install or exchange furniture and appliances in all dormitory(s) or buildings for renovation or furnish a new/renovated facility(s).
• You will annually, through the Housing Element Chief and Housing Program Manager, obtain APF budget inputs or estimates and provide to the housing element chief.
• Verify and notify scheduled pickup and delivery with residents/members.
• Must accompany commercial contractors for pickup and delivery.
• Inspect issues and turn-ins for proper identification, quantity, condition, and cleanliness; determine disposition of the property.
• Ensure members sign the eMH generated form 228 at time of delivery or pick-up. Members may give power of attorney to someone else to perform furnishings transactions depending on circumstances (i.e., early departure from station area).
• Complete and update the required documentation.


Qualification:
• Capable of lifting 100 pounds to ensure ability to move furniture from rooms to storage facilities.
• At least one-year minimum experience in furnishings management.
