About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Sensor Simulation Engineer who mainly focuses on robotic and autonomous systems. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and use simulated robotic sensors, develop calibration processes, create and maintain the database of interchanged simulated sensors, verify and correlate synthetic data from simulation with corresponding from the real world, and collaborate and communicate with the engineers in other domains.

You will be part of our simulation domain whose mission is to enable our Robotics and Cybernetics domains to “Embody robots with thoughtful planning skills for countless real-world challenges by simulating worlds where they can learn independently and collaborate with humans.” This role will enable the team to simulate these learning environments at scale.

About you

You are a diligent and forward thinking professional with superior communication skills. You are passionate about simulating robots as much or even more than building them and proficient with sensors both in the real world and 3D environment.

Qualifications:

3+ years experience simulating sensors in a game engine (Unreal Engine, Gazebo, etc.)
3+ years experience with Sensor modeling in a simulation environment (Matlab, Simulnik)
Camera calibration experience, both intrinsics and extrinsics
Ability to model IMUs and GPSs sensors, including noise, efficiently
Familiarity with Lidar sensors and data
Deep 3D geometry knowledge
C++ and Python skills
Nice to have:
