Job description:
This position will support the verification and release of vehicle-specific algorithms and calibrations for crash-sensing application projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Firing performance HIL Test execution and results reporting: Execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) verification and validation of integrated algorithms, calibrations and application SW using Matlab, Simulink, StateFlow and dSpace-based tool chain. Set up and debug HIL stand as necessary, and support test case development.
• HIL Lab infrastructure support: Support dSPACE-based HIL system set up, including debugging and integrity verification. Work with application team leads to assure HIL stand HW is working and available. Integrate latest sensor model in HIL stands. Develop and maintain usable universal ACU microcontroller data acquisition. Collaborate with global expert team on HIL architecture optimizations and other improvements.
• Algorithm SW Verification Support: Design and execute test plans to verify algorithm designs against requirements. Perform Software-in-the-Loop, Hardware-in-the-Loop verification and validation using Mathworks/dSpace - based tool chain. Analyze results to confirm proper algorithm function. Maintain traceability between requirements in DOORs and test results
• System and Algorithm Analysis: Analyze system design and behaviors, troubleshoot performance issues, report findings and propose resolutions to senior engineers and application stakeholders
• Design Reviews: Support algorithm and calibration peer reviews.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3-7 years of experience in Restraints, Powertrain, Brake Control, ADAS or other embedded automotive controller algorithm / calibration development
• Experience or university coursework in Systems, Dynamics, and Controls
• Understanding of embedded-controller digital signal processing, sampling, filtering techniques
• Knowledge of passive and active safety sensing technologies, and methodologies for managing signal uncertainties and errors
Hands-on experience with:
• Matlab/Simulink, C/C++. Familiarity with Perl and Python programming languages a plus.
• Vector CAN & LIN tools (CANalyzer, CANoe) or equivalent (NeoVI).
• Testing / debugging embedded systems and electrical circuits using in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes
• Embedded system Hardware-In-the-Loop tester setups and test case development
• Working knowledge of PTC Integrity, DOORs or equivalent tools
