GVI, Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a looking for an experienced Computer Engineer I - Database Administrator position to support our customer in Fleet Sensors and Cables Engineering at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop new databases to support customer requirements.
Maintain/manage database to ensure optimum functionality; troubleshoot/resolve issues; recommend and implement corrective actions.
Respond to users' inquiries about database functionality and performance issues
Monitor database performance and recommend/implement upgrades when required.
Continuous interaction with customers and attends meetings/briefings; provide status reports.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

US Citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance; Candidates currently possessing an Active Secret Clearance (or higher) are preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
3 to 5 years of experience in the following:
HTML script, web design including development tools such as; Dreamweaver and the creation of interactive pages and sites.
Database development programs such as MS ACCESS and SQL Server.
Writing windows batch files.
Writing code using a structured language such as Visual Basic.
Using database components including writing queries, building forms and designing reports.
Using MS Excel or similar product.
Act as database administrator, implement measures to ensure database security/integrity.
Excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work based on customer requirements.
Interact closely with customers and provide status updates when required.
