Job Description
PeopleReady ofSouth Gate has an immediate opening forCooks inLos Angeles, CA.
Hillcrest Country Club Cooks ensure quality product and service in each of its 5 restaurants plus an employee cafeteria. From the pool and courtside cafes, to the formal dining room, grill room and dining patio, we depend on skilled Pantry Cooks, Prep Cooks, Line Cooks, and Pastry Cooks, working as a team under the leadership of our executive chefs, to ensure that HCC is the dining destination of choice for our members and their guests, both for restaurant dining and our many private banquet events.
Note - Pay rate for this job is $17.00/Hour - $25.00/Hour
Shift timing -2nd Shift (Evening) and3rd Shift (Night)
Responsibilities Include:

• Quality is our chief concern and we look for experienced candidates who are certified food handlers, familiar with all the requirements of health department sanitation standards.
• Every Hillcrest cook is tasked with food preparation, quality assurance and following the appropriate health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Position requires at least 2 years previous cooking experience in a high-volume operation, current Food Handler Certification and the ability to communicate effectively in English, bi-lingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Background check and Drug screen required.
• At least 2 years previous cooking experience in a high volume operation
• Food Handler's certificate
• Strong customer service orientation and desire to exceed customer expectations
• Knowledge of and ability to correctly use kitchen equipment and tools
• Knowledge of American cuisine and fresh fare as they relate to and are the inspiration for our food concepts
• Good food preparation skills and the ability to follow recipes and instructions.
• Able to communicate effectively and professionally in English
• Team player with can-do attitude, able to work well with others, resolving problems quickly and effectively
• Able to work well under pressure
• Organized and proactive
• Exceptional grooming habits, maintaining a clean and complete uniform as designated by management
• Punctual and reliable
