The Maintenance Assistant provides support to the Property Manager in the general maintenance and repairs of the grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing office and parking lots of a multi-family residential apartments in Baytown, Texas.

We are looking for a dependable person who can move between tasks with ease, a team player, and enjoys working in a changing business environment. Someone who can work under pressure, self-motivated, with strong communication skills, willing to learn and has a positive work attitude. Excellent customer service skill is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include plumbing, basic carpentry, electrical, lighting, cooling, repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems
• Reports any maintenance concerns for repairs on available apartments, model units, clubhouse, or common areas to the Property Manager
• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair
• Advises supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
• Other general maintenance duties as needed

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Preferably with general maintenance experience in the multifamily industry
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Able to understand and follow instructions
• Knowledgeable of general carpentry and repair
• Must be dependable with a strong work ethic
• Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check
• Must provide state issued driver's license or ID
• Bring own tools
• Reliable transportation a must

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Maybe required prolonged periods of standing and walking as needed
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
• Must be able to lift heavy objects (50 pounds) at a time

Schedule:
• 10-15 hours plus per week, as needed

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
