5 Axis Programmer

Pay: $28-36/hr.

Hours: Monday- Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM

Job Type: Temp-hire

Location: Tulsa, OK

Job Description:

The 5 AXIS CNC Programmer utilizes solid models and drawings to write programs for numerical control systems using Mazatrol, ESPRIT CAM software and manual methods that produce parts on time, efficiently, within drawing tolerances, and consistent with the company quality definitions. The Programmer also designs and documents the set-up, tooling and any other process documents or instruction needed to produce quality parts at the machine. The programmer assists in the initial set up and prove out of new process at the machine with the operator.

Job Requirements:

•High School/GED diploma.

•Two years of field specific Technical or Vocational education preferred.

•Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience programming NC machines in precision part production. Field specific Technical, or Vocational experience or education may be considered in lieu of experience.

•Operational knowledge of each assigned machine in the CNC Department.

•Operational knowledge of precision measuring and inspection equipment.

•Effective communication skills.

•Effective skills are essential in reading blueprints, diagrams, drawings, sketches, and working with solid models.

•Ability to work overtime on an as-needed basis, involving extra hours during the week, Fridays, Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays and holidays may be required.

•Must have advanced knowledge of ESPRIT (lathe, 3-axis mill, 4-axis horizontal, 5-axis mill-turn)

•Must have basic knowledge of modeling in SolidWorks

•Must be able to evaluate model dimensions to ensure they match up with print dimensions

•Must be able to prove-out your own programs with the operator at the machine, which may include the programmer running the machine themselves to ensure proper toolpath

•Ability to develop a machining solution for complex parts from start to finish

•Ability to research and evaluate machine tooling to meet specific machining needs

•Ability to work directly with engineering to develop parts which are machinable while being profitable

•Must be able to troubleshoot machining issues when such issues arise
