We are looking for a Senior US Tax Accountant.

The Senior US Tax Accountant will support the Tax, Treasury and Finance teams. The Senior US Tax Accountant will assist with the review and filing of sales, property, and income tax compliance activities and analytical support for the Tax Team.

The Senior US Tax Accountant responsibilities also include but are not limited to preparation of state apportionment data, assisting in tax research, recording tax related journal entries, and assisting in the preparation of the US quarterly tax provision.

The Senior US Tax Accountant will assist in preparing responses to federal, state and local audit information document requests.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the review of monthly sales, use, and property tax filings prepared by external advisors.

Responsible for providing information to external advisors to prepare income tax returns for federal and state, reviewing the annual returns, and tax account rollforward.

Gather and analyze the financial information for tax return purposes such as g/l detail schedules and sales apportionment.

Maintain the US tax calendar to ensure all payments and returns are filed on a timely basis to proper taxing authorities.

Coordinate payment of all estimated income tax and franchise taxes.
Update tax jurisdiction codes in SAP monthly based on state rate changes.

Assist with the preparation of the tax provision workbooks on a quarterly basis including pulling detail reports out of SAP.

Perform research on taxability of business purchases and provide sales tax exemption certificates as requested.

Perform research on the taxability of customers and request sales tax exemption certificates where needed.

Assist in audit processes with various tax authorities and respond to notices where applicable.


Qualifications/Requirements:
University Degree in mathematics, commerce, business, or accounting.
3-5 years of tax or finance experience, with experience in US tax preferred.
Exceptional Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
Strong experience with SAP and tax research platforms such as Bloomberg Tax.
Strong analytical skills, initiative and attention to detail.
Good time management skills.
