We also produce fresh prepared foods for retail partners in the food service, grocery and specialty food industries.

We are looking for a Purchasing Clerk to buy products that are essential for our company’s day-to-day operations. You will review prices and quality and ensure optimal stock levels. Purchasing Officer responsibilities include evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts and preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs). For this role, you should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure you’re identifying the most profitable offers. Ultimately, you’ll create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.

Job Responsibilities:

Planning, coordinating & directing the purchasing & storeroom functions for both airline & home meal replacement businesses
Implement necessary control systems & storeroom procedures to ensure effective product cost control.
Train & develop personnel to Ensure compliance to USDA guidelines & GMP’s
Sourcing & negotiating with vendors to attain the lowest possible prices via Eatec / Sage bid function software
Monitor & control costs & Ensures the budgeted food costs are met
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the purchasing functions
Implement necessary systems and procedures to ensure effective product cost control.

Facilitate uniform quality standards in food safety and sanitation through employee
Training and periodic kitchen inspection audits.
Any other duties assigned by the Purchasing Manager
Job Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of related purchasing & inventory experience
Knowledge of inventory & ordering procedures. Both manual and computerized
Understanding of airline specifications & breakdown of menus
Knowledge of USDA & HACCP requirements
Knowledge of spreadsheets, menu costing and inventory/requisition software.
Must have proficient computer skills.
Desire experience using EATEC / SAGE system.

Responsibilities

Research potential vendors
Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
Track orders and ensure timely delivery
Review quality of purchased products
Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage
Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends
