Title: Business Analyst (Data Governance)
Location: Plaza, NJ
Terms: 11 Months Contract

Description:
In this role, you will drive the translation of SIFI regulatory reporting requirements into an enterprise business glossary, then work with multiple business units to identify data stewards and authoritative sources for these data requirements, and then develop rules to standardize reference data for delivering the data in a controlled fashion to the bank’s Regulatory Reporting and Treasury teams.
You will assist in the creation and implementation of data quality monitoring rules that will be implemented in SQL, and will assist in documenting the lineage of data as it flows from the authoritative sources to the final reports.
You will partner with other stakeholder teams across business units to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with various teams.

Responsibilities
• Supporting multi-tier governance forums and working groups: Support a multi-tier data governance forums, including an executive-level forum focused on strategic oversight of the data management program, a senior-management forum focused on management reviews of the data management program, and more narrowly focused break-out working groups, including identification of members, attendees etc., tracking decisions, action items and referrals, formalizing decision rights, accountability and approval/escalation paths
• Maintaining Data Management policies and standards: Manage annual updates to the Enterprise Data Management policy and standards documentation
• Tracking adherence to policies: Monitor adherence to policies and standards, document known exceptions and manage the self-identification and reporting of issues per the Enterprise Issue Management & Resolution (IMR) process
• Data Stewardship: Define key stewardship roles and responsibilities across data management, IT, data providers, data consumers, 2nd Line of Defense, 3rd Line of Defense

Minimum qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or Computer Science
• Understanding of data governance concepts (Data stewardship, Data quality monitoring, lineage etc.)
• Understanding of the segregation of duties per the 3LOD (3 lines of defense) model
• Prior experience monitoring and documenting adherence to policies and standards, self-identifying issues
• Ability to collaborate, influence, and communicate across multiple stakeholders and levels of leadership, speaking at the appropriate level of detail
• Excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex issues for management reporting

Preferred qualifications
• Strong working knowledge of SQL, and hands-on experience as a data analyst
