Detailed Job Description:
MS SQL Server: (Primary - Mandatory )
Specific skills needed to perform or understand sql queries, should be able to write queries for good support of database validations or logs
Good knowledge on high availability(Always ON, Replication, clustering etc.)
Able to take quick and right decisions in business hours/off hours/weekends if there is something went wrong related to the database or server.
Should be able to take right decisions on blocking issues
Troubleshooting slow running queries and take necessary steps to resolve them
Troubleshooting the fails backup jobs
Building and supporting processes to replicate data from one datastore to another, often from on premise to AWS
SQL Server Version Upgrades
DBA is often needed to deploy SQL Server portion of software releases
Storage Migrations Work with Storage team to move network attached storage to another filer
Experience with supporting SQL Server in cloud environment.
Should have excellent communication skills to effectively interface with client/users/internal offshore team.
MySQL: (Secondary - Mandatory)
Issues related to Host down, MySQL Services down, client lose connections etc.
Need to understand about the Replication failure errors and take necessary steps
Provisioning new MySQL hosts and software
User access requests, including for new programs or new client machines
Provide DBA services including installations, replication, backups, loads, and schema alterations for all prod Databases in all MySQL versions.
Good knowledge on Linux environment
Hands on Experience in MySQL Migrations and upgrades from all versions.
Experience with supporting MySQL in cloud environment.
Contribute to database planning efforts such as DR, tool selection, and scaling initiatives.
Should have excellent communication skills to effectively interface with client/users/internal offshore team.
Oracle: (Preferred )
Must have good experience on oracle latest version 10g, 11g, 12c etc,
RAC Knowledge on all versions of oracle for storage automation and management
Extensive knowledge on troubleshooting Data guard
Rman backup tool and performance tuning
Need to be well verse in Oracle backup and recoveries
Unix scripting knowledge is must as we have MySQL DBA as well
Experience in handling complex database recoveries scenarios
Experience in troubleshooting various installation and patching issues
