Full-time SOA Tester

Position 1: SOA Tester

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Duration: 12+months

Any Visa.

 

Responsibilities:

 

SOA tester will provide the support in developing SOA/integration interface
test plans and estimates, automated test script development, executing service
test scripts, reporting/tracking defects.  The tester may also contribute to
functional testing as needed by the team.  The Quality Engineer is responsible
for managing quality and test related process execution with high impact to the
business. This includes providing feedback on artifacts developed during 
requirements and analysis phase within EDGE and other R&D projects, authoring
test plans and test automation, and performing test execution for both project
and support related activities. The tester should be able to work on different
protocals and API?s.

 

Minimum Skills required:


8+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance
6+ years of hands-on, automation testing of integration web services (both
REST and SOAP protocols) that include database validations
Demonstrated experience in XML, XSD, XPath, MQTT, Topics, HTTP, HTTPS,
JSON, Bytes array message format or Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)
Experience in SOA frameworks, processes, strategies, and approaches
5+ years of test automation using DevTest / LISA / SOAP UI
Java/Javascript programming (and Selenium) is a plus
3+ years of working in an Agile/Scrum methodology
5+ years of using Quality Center/ALM for test case management
3+ years of using JIRA for user story management and defect tracking
Ability to succeed and focus in a fast paced environment with
noise/distractions
Point of Sale, weigh scales, mobile devices, etc.  

Position Specific Skill Preferences/Desires:


 Prefer 8+ years of automation testing web services using ITKO LISA, CA
LISA, or CA DevTest
Prefer SOA test experience be utilized in the current/most recent project
Prefer Agile be utilized in the current/most recent project
Prefer experience working in a SAFe Agile environment  

Other Essential Job Functions:


Work within various test methodologies such as Waterfall and SAFe agile
Participate in the technical design process with Application Architects on
R&D related development projects.
Test web services using CA Lisa / DevTest automated scripts.
Test web services using SDLC best practices.
Participate in all phases of API / Integration / web services system
testing.
Selenium automation experience is an added advantage.
Develop, implement and maintain quality and test procedures, processes and
best practices for QA.
Develop and maintain test plan and test scripts with associated test data
based upon functional and non-functional requirements.
Identify test automation opportunities to improve efficiency and
effectiveness of testing services.
Contribute to test automation scripting standards and best practices.
Understand SOA Reference Architecture.
Elicit & understand SOA testing requirements.
Write automation scripts and participate in peer reviews.
Develop a repeatable process for designing, developing, and executing
scripts.
Conduct tests, document and analyze test results and present findings to
development teams. 
Report and document defects found during test cycles. Participate in defect
prioritization sessions.
Work with development teams to instill testability into development
practices.
Provide test services for support activity and work with release management
to assure product release quality.
Communicate timely status, including any potential risks/issues to the
appropriate teams to ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule,
budget and quality constraints. Must be able to perform the essential functions

Position 2: Technical QA Lead

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Duration: 12+months

Responsibilities:

The QA Lead is responsible for quality and test related process execution
with high impact to the business.  This includes providing feedback on
artifacts developed during requirements and analysis phase within client
projects; authoring test plans and test cases; and performing / leading test
execution for both project and support related activities.  The QA lead is
responsible for leading and supporting testers in an agile environment that may
be located locally or remotely in the US or India.  The QA lead is responsible
for coordinating providing guidance and oversight on testing standards and
processes, including assisting with code reviews.  Testing can be manual or
automated (Selenium Web Driver will utilized for automation). The Kroger QA
lead must be familiar with the Agile Methodology as well demonstrate hands on
experience with Selenium automation concepts and tools and web service testing
concepts.

Position/Project Specific Requirements:


5+ years of QA Lead experience
3+ years of experience writing Selenium tests in Java
2+ years of experience with test runners (Junit, TestNG, Mocha, Jasmine)
2+ years of experience with CI tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab)
1+ years of experience with Selenium Grid
1+ years of experience testing web services (manual or automation)
1+ years of working in an Agile/Scrum methodology
1+ years of using Jira for defect tracking Position/Project Specific

Very strong communication and collaboration skills
Strong experience leading the automation of regression test suites
Prefer QA Lead experience on most recent project
Prefer Selenium being utilized in the current/most recent project

Position 3: Data/ETL Tester

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Duration: 12+months

Responsibilities:


SQL, Netezza or other NoSQL Database experience
Informatica IDQ  The tester supports quality assurance programs and
processes in alignment with QA strategy.  

The tester is responsible for providing feedback on artifacts developed
during requirements and analysis phase within client projects; authoring test
cases; and performing test execution for both project and support related
activities. The tester will be predominately performing manual testing in the
first few months but will heavily participate in establishing our test
automation approach and automation testing thereafter.

Position/Project Specific Requirements:


5+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance
3+ years SQL utilizing complex queries and writing stored procedures
2+ years testing data/data transformation/data movement (ETL)
Firm understanding of data architecture and ETL workflows
1+ years of experience with Netezza and AMPP
1+ years of using Informatica IDQ or other tools to automate ETL tests
1+ years of Agile methodology experience
2+ years of using Quality Center/ALM for test case management
1+ years of using Jira for defect tracking

Essential Job Functions:


Work within an Agile methodology
Validate data from the data sources through each step of the extract and
transformation process including final load in the data warehouse
Develop and review test plans and test scripts
Automate test efforts using Kroger ETL automation tools
Conduct some manual or automated web service testing when needs arise
Ensure accurate data and reporting, in terms of content and infrastructure
by researching and identifying source of errors
Understand the data model and ETL flow. 
Write SQL scripts to extract data from various databases and systems and
compare against data warehouse
Perform root cause and trend analysis to identify recurring patterns of
errors
Ensure data standards/integrity are maintained in order to deliver the
highest quality products
Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Scrum,
Retrospectives, Showcases, etc).
Document defects and evaluate priority of defect based on overall
application functionality
Coordinate test script reviews with stakeholders as appropriate.
Adhere to requirement review, defect writing & test script writing
guidelines
Keep QA Lead/Coach and management informed of current state of quality
Ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule, budget and quality
constraints.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis sessions
Ensure that projects follow prescribed software development life cycle
standards.
Develop and maintain good relationships with project team.
Multi-task to meet assignment deadlines
Accurately estimate work assignments
Show assertiveness
Have obtained a bachelor?s degree in Information Systems or have related
and equivalent work experience
Identify obstacles and roadblocks; and offer suggestions to work around
